“We encourage all British Columbians who are participating in Jeans Day on May 4 to challenge themselves to come up with the most unique jean attire,” said Teri Nicholas, president, and CEO of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Jeans Day is one of our most popular fundraisers, one that families and co-workers can participate in together.  We have set our goal at raising an ambitious $1.2 million this year and encourage everyone to “Jean Up” and fundraise for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.”

Jeans Day participants who take a photo of themselves in their denim outfits and share it on one of the following channels: Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the tag @bcchf and #JeanUp, will be entered into a draw to win $500 worth of jeans courtesy of Jeans Day denim partner Mavi Jeans. The winner will be drawn randomly after May 4.

About Jeans Day

Jeans Day, taking place on May 4, 2017, is one of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s signature events and grassroots fundraisers. It started in 1990, and has raised more than $20 million for BCCHF. Funds raised this year will go to the Excellence in Child Health Fund, which supports the most urgent health-care needs at BC Children’s Hospital.

The Jeans Day date has moved to the beginning of May as part of a bigger movement. A concerted effort has been made to unite all BC Children’s Hospital fundraising efforts in a final push during the month of May leading up to Miracle Weekend. Jeans Day will kick off this “#MakeMayMatter” month of fundraising. Visit for more information on how to register for Jeans Day.
