Well the Ottawa trip has ended as quickly as it began but not without some unique experiences that Lindsey, along with all her fellow Champions, will cherish for a lifetime. Next up, Bowling Extravaganza! Lindsey did a great job, beating her dad by getting two strikes! Monday morning the family was able to sleep in a bit to get over the jetlag before we headed out for the day. Gibrail Hocken from Calgary gave a great impromptu speech at the Media lunch, hosted in the Government Conference Centre. At Parliament Hill the Champions were called in to the Commons Chamber public gallery to be recognized by the Speaker for their courage and strength during the House of Commons Question period. What an amazing experience to see the kids all receive a standing ovation from the Members of Parliament.
I would like to draw to the attention of hon. members the presence in the gallery of a group of boys and girls, the Children's Miracle Network 2011 Champions from across the country.
These youngsters have overcome life-threatening illnesses or injuries and have been chosen to represent the millions of children who are treated annually by the Children's Miracle Network hospitals and foundations across North America. Some hon. members: Hear, hear!

Lindsey gave a funny and heartfelt presentation to His Excellency, honouring him with a framed map of Canada that featured a photo of each child in their respective province. Yesterday I had to say goodbye to the Lourencos and wish them well in Disney World, but they have already called me from Splash Mountain and from Disney's Main Street where they were getting ready to participate in the parade with characters such as Cinderella and Mickey Mouse! Later this week they will get to meet all the Champions from the United States and all be honoured with a metal for their work as ambassadors and miracle kids. Lindsey and her sister, Sadie, promised to share some of their favourite photos once they are back next week. Have fun girls!
