Chinese-Canadian Community

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers, BC Children's Hospital is one of the most widely supported causes in BC's Chinese-Canadian community. To date, Chinese-Canadian initiatives have raised more than $40 million for BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

The community is well on its way to completing Operation Superhero, a three-year commitment to raising $5 million through three of its popular annual events - the For Children We Care Dinner Gala, the Chinese-Canadian Miracle Weekend Telethon and the Golf for Kids Tournament - for the Oncology Inpatient Unit at the new BC Children's Hospital.

Operation Superhero is entering its final year in 2012. Its legacy - a state-of-the-art Oncology Inpatient Unit - will serve our children and grandchildren for years to come.

For Children We Care Gala

This annual event, held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, raises money for a designated area of BC Children's Hospital. Learn more about this event.


Chinese-Canadian Miracle Weekend Telethon

This multimedia event, which coincides with the BC Children's Hospital Miracle Weekend on Global TV, airs on Fairchild Television, CHMB AM1320 and Fairchild Radio AM1470. Pre-event fundraising takes place in the months before through charity sales, golf tournaments, and other activities.  Let more about this event.


Golf for Kids Tournament

As part of the Chinese-Canadian Miracle Weekend fundraising initiatives, this premiere golf tournament provides participants with the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day of golf and to network with colleagues while supporting the hospital in its role as the leading healthcare facility for the children of BC. Legacy Giving

The Asian Planned Gift Committee is made up of volunteers from BC's financial, insurance, legal and accounting companies who donate their time and expertise to a number of initiatives, from bilingual handouts about making planned gifts to BC Children's Hospital Foundation to organizing and speaking at educational sessions for BC Children's Hospital Foundation donors, volunteers and allied professionals.
