How Your Gift Helps

When ten-year-old Colton Hasebe started wheezing and couldn’t get relief from his asthma inhaler, his dad Kevin brought him to emergency at BC Children’s Hospital.

Thanks to the specialized care he received at BC Children's and later, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children - made possible by donor support - and his own courage and determination, Colton is now back to living a full life with his family.

Take a moment to read Colton's story and learn why he is this year's Champion. Champions presented by Walmart Canada, is a Children’s Miracle Network program that honours remarkable children who have triumphed despite severe medical challenges.

Why is your donation so important?

Since 1988, British Columbians have contributed more than $300 million through Miracle Weekend fundraising campaigns for the urgent needs at BC Children's Hospital.

With the opening of the Teck Acute Care Centre in October 2017, we now have an innovative, state-of-the-art hospital to complement the outstanding care BC Children's Hospital has long been known for, but we're still not done. And with your support, we'll continue our pursuit of more cures and safer treatments through groundbreaking research, equip the hospital with the most advanced technologies and do what we can to prevent illness and injury through early intervention to keep kids healthy and safe, so they never need the hospital in the first place.

But we can't do it without you. You are the reason we can aim higher for our children.

Together, we are built to heal.
