David Crowe and Aegis Mortgage Services
Jack Oyhenart is deeply missed by his family and friends but his legacy lives on here at BC Children’s Hospital. A proud supporter of BC Children's Hospital, BC Cancer Society, and Heart and Stroke Foundation for over 30 years, Jack inspired his son, Chad Oyhenart, to keep this goodwill alive through his business, Aegis Mortgage Services Ltd. Through a six-month promotional contest with a $10,000 prize, Aegis Mortgage Services proudly donated $100 for every deal completed, in memory of Jack Oyhenart.
At the conclusion of the contest David Crowe, who was the lucky winner of the $10,000 prize, called Chad to state that he wished to donate half of his winnings to BC Children’s Hospital in Jack’s name. David, a long-time member of Rotary International and a strong believer in paying his good fortune forward and doing good for others, had earlier joked with Chad he would donate half the winnings if he ever won. When he heard about his luck in winning the prize for this amazing fundraising campaign in Jack’s memory he jumped at the chance to fulfil that pledge; not just to donate to a great cause but also to honour a great man and to help Aegis Mortgage Services Ltd. exceed their fundraising expectations.
“Not only is this amazing because of his selflessness and generosity, but the date that I held the draw was on the second anniversary of my father Jack's passing. The coincidence was surreal,” Chad Oyhenart said.
