April 9, 2014 – Vancouver, BC – On Thursday, April 24, 2014 thousands of people across British Columbia and the Yukon will proudly wear their favorite pair of jeans for Jeans Day™ in support of BC Children’s Hospital. The hospital hopes to raise over $1 million through the sale of Jeans Day™ buttons for $5 and lapel pins for $20, which are available at Jeans Day™ Official Retailers across the province: Save-on-Foods, Costco, Overwaitea Foods, Thrify Foods, PriceSmart Foods, Cooper’s Foods, Urban Fare and London Drugs.

“Every year schools, businesses and communities across BC and the Yukon help change the lives of BC’s sick and injured children through Jeans Day™,” said Teri Nicholas, CEO, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “This event truly shows what we can achieve when many people make a small contribution.”

In Vancouver, the annual Jeans Day™ BBQ at the Vancouver Art Gallery on Georgia Street, April 24 from 11:30am to 1:30pm, is expected to draw hundreds of people intent on sampling an exciting new Jeans Day™ lunch menu for $10, generously provided by The Glowbal Collection group of restaurants. Entertainment at the barbecue will be provided by the Beat Street Squad and other guests, with a special appearance by Vancouver Canucks mascot FIN and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation mascot Sunny Bear.

In many participating organizations Jeans Day™ 2014 buttons and pins are available from office champions. Individuals without access to a school or office champion can register at the Jeans Day™ website or pick up a button at an official retailer in their community.
