On June 3, a benefit concert will be held at Clinton Memorial Hall for Brooke Addison Cleveland, daughter of Kasandra (Kassy) Dyck and Marty Cleveland and granddaughter of Wade and Daniella Dyck of Clinton.
Brooke was born on March 25, 2011 at 4:03 a.m. She was diagnosed prenatally with Gastrochisis (large and small intestines and her stomach were outside her body). Just hours after she entered the world she had to have surgery to place everything inside her abdomen.
Brooke spent almost five weeks at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. Kassy had to relocate to Vancouver weeks before Brooke's delivery so doctors could monitor Brooke's prenatal development.
She and Brooke are now at home with Marty and stepsister Hailey. Brooke is progressing well and the family is happy to be reunited at home.
The benefit concert has been organized to help the family with expenses. This is an evening with Ed Peekeekoot, an amazing performer, who plays a multitude of instruments, is a singer-songwriter and storyteller.
The doors open at 7 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30. Tickets are available at the door and there will also be a concession.
Anyone who may not be able to attend but still wishes to support the family is asked to do so at the Clinton Branch of Integris Credit Union.
