March 8, 2010 - Vancouver, BC - Lululemon founder Chip Wilson and his family have signed on as the presenting sponsor for the 25th annual ChildRun, one of BC Children's Hospital Foundation's signature events. The quarter-century-old family fun run, which raised $640,000 in 2009, will take place on Sunday, June 6, 2010.

"ChildRun is a great event in support of a great cause," said Mr. Wilson. "The event already has all the ingredients for success; it's family friendly, it's fun and colourful, and thousands of families, schools, businesses and individuals participate year after year."

The Wilson family's decision to shift its support from the Chip's Not Dead Yet Memorial Mile, which took place in 2008 and 2009 and raised over $250,000 for BC Children's, was motivated by their desire to ensure their support for the community has the greatest possible impact.

"I'm proud of the success we had with the Chip's Not Dead Yet Memorial Mile," said Mr. Wilson. "Simply put, ChildRun represents an opportunity to redirect resources and energy to deliver the greatest benefit to BC Children's. In the end, BC's kids win, and that's what's important."

In 2009, 5,000 individuals, including 179 teams representing schools, businesses and community groups, ran or walked the one-kilometre or five-kilometre routes around the BC Children's Hospital site, which takes on a carnival atmosphere during the run, with family-oriented entertainment and activities.

"Chip and his family are intent on making a difference for BC's kids, and we welcome the addition of their spirit and energy to ChildRun, as well as their financial support," said Sue Carruthers, president and CEO of BC Children's Hospital Foundation. "It's going to be great having them on board for the 25th annual ChildRun."

The 25th annual ChildRun takes place at BC Children's Hospital at 9:00 am on Sunday, June 6, 2010. Registration and additional information is available at
