Vernon Morning Star
On March 6, 2007, our family was given the devastating news that our two-year-old little girl Olivia has acute lymphoblastic leukemia,
For any parent given the news that your child has cancer, you have no idea what to think, do, or even say.
Olivia stayed at B.C. Children's Hospital until Sept.. 5 2007 when we were given the news it was time to go home. Olivia could continue treatment at home and at Children's Hospital.
We decided it was in Olivia's best interest to relocate closer to the hospital as the next two years would be full of hard chemotherapy treatments and numerous trips to the hospital.
There were many ups and downs, but we are so grateful to wake up everyday to the sounds of Olivia.
As of April 23, 2009, Olivia is completely finished her treatment, our little girl is in full remission and lives every day to her fullest.
Our family was overwhelmed and very humbled by the love and support that we received from the community of Vernon and we can never thank you all enough. Vernon will always be our home and we cannot wait until the day we are able to move back.
Thank you all so very much for all of the support our family has received, and especially Wendy Edwards who went above and beyond to help our family. You will be in our hearts forever.
