Sher-E-Punjab Radiothon raises $104,000

Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 1550 is grateful to listeners for their generosity and continued support during the 7th annual radiothon, which was held on September 18, 2012. In total, listeners pledged over $104,000. 

Since the radiothon's inception Sher-E-Punjab Radio listeners have pledged over $700,000 for BC Children's Hospital and last year alone, the station donated $100,000; funds put towards the Foundation's Excellence in Child Health Fund, which provides BC Children's Hospital with the most urgently needed critical care equipment. 

Ajit Singh Badh, CEO of Sher-E-Punjab Radio, explains how this important the annual radiothon connects them to the community. "It is our common ground and giving is in our hearts", Badh says. "I love the enthusiasm and continued support of our respected fans and families that donate each year. I appreciate the support from children to grandparents, supporters in various other countries, our team at Sher-E-Punjab for their dedication, and our volunteers for all the work they do for the day.”

The Sher-E-Punjab Radio radiothon, with the support of the community's donations, continues to change the lives of children and their families at BC Children’s Hospital. From providing the right equipment to help a child speak or walk to conducting groundbreaking pediatric research to find better treatments and cures for devastating childhood diseases events like this radiothon ensure our children, the most precious members of our society, are receiving the best possible care.
