Hockey jamboree raises funds for BC Children’s Hospital

Apex Winter Classic

Playing on an outdoor rink at the scenic Apex Mountain Resort was an experience 120 young hockey players won’t soon forget. Nine and ten year olds from across the province and Washington State fundraised for BC Children’s Hospital in their communities, then played for fun at the fourth annual Apex Winter Classic Hockey Jamboree in January.

The tournament raised $26,462 this year, bringing the tournament’s four-year total to over $77,000.

“Getting young hockey players and their families together to raise money for BC Children’s Hospital was the right thing to do,” said organizer Yannick Lescarbeau.

“The feeling of helping out sick children while playing hockey at Apex makes it that much more fun for all.” — Yannick Lescarbeau
