Employees #JeanUp for a great cause
On May 4th, ICBC employees swapped their suits and ties for the classic Canadian Tuxedo. Donned in denim head-to-toe — along with a $5 fundraising button or $20 lapel pin — they raised $40,000 for Jeans Day. This year’s total is nearly $10,000 higher than last year’s — the second-highest single amount ICBC has donated to the cause in nearly 20 years of giving.
All proceeds from Jeans Day™ will support clinical care, education and research programs at BC Children’s Hospital, as well as the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment, which the hospital relies on to meet its daily, critical needs.
“Fundraising for BC Children’s Hospital is so important to ICBC,” says Jared Huber, Senior Specialist, Community & Stakeholder Relations. “Many of our employees have been personally affected by the exceptional care and treatment that they, their children or a loved one received at the hospital.”
ICBC employees have raised approximately $370,000 for BCCHF since 1987.
