Time for a Good Read

It has been a while since I had a story read to me, and I thought it was time to check out the monthly Storytime happening at BC Children’s Hospital.  Each month a local children’s author comes to the hospital to read a section of their book to patients able to listen in on that day.

I had the pleasure of meeting local author Darlene Foster, who read from her book Amanda in Arabia – The Perfume Flask.  Darlene also brought along props to help illustrate the story, including a stuffed camel (much enjoyed by a young patient, Amber) and a camel puppet to add to the storytelling.

Storytime is open to patients and families who are using BC Children's Hospital, and is located in the school room on the third floor. In-patients and out-patients are welcome.

Join us! February 4 for a reading by Tiffany Stone,a children’s poet and the author of two collections of rhyming poetry.

For a full list of upcoming authors, visit the Family Support and Resource Centre website here.
