Thanks in part to the tireless efforts of our volunteers, BC Children's Hospital is one of the most widely supported causes in BC's Chinese-Canadian community. To date, Chinese-Canadian initiatives have raised more than $40 million for BC Children's Hospital Foundation.
The Chinese-Canadian community’s exemplary support of the hospital includes Operation Superhero, a special initiative that raised $5 million in only three years for the Oncology Inpatient Unit at the new BC Children’s Hospital.

This annual event, held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, raises money for BC Children's Hospital. In 2017, the gala raised an amazing $2.5 million towards the purchase a heart-lung machine, an ECLS (a portable heart-lung machine) and ventilators.
This multimedia event, which coincides with BC Children's Hospital Miracle Weekend on Global TV, airs on Fairchild Television, CHMB AM1320 and Fairchild Radio AM1470. Pre-event fundraising takes place in the months before and includes charity sales, charity performances, and other activities.
The Chinese-Canadian Planned Gift Committee is made up of volunteers from BC's financial, insurance, legal and accounting companies who donate their time and expertise to a number of initiatives such as creating bilingual handouts about making planned gifts to BC Children's Hospital Foundation and organizing and speaking at educational sessions for BC Children's Hospital Foundation donors, volunteers and allied professionals.
