Chinese Canadian Community

What started as one person's dream became an entire community's pledge to support BC Children's Hospital. In April 2010, inspired by a longtime volunteer, the Chinese-Canadian community announced its commitment to fund the Oncology Inpatient Unit in the new BC Children's Hospital by raising $5 million over three years. This ambitious project, aptly named Operation Superhero, will help transform the environment in which children with cancer will be treated. In 2013 Operation Superhero was successfully funded, becoming the Chinese-Canadian community's most successful endeavour in support of child health yet.

Since 1994, the Chinese-Canadian community has raised more than $45 million for the hospital. In addition to Operation Superhero, many individuals and corporations within this community, such as the Lee family and the Peterson Group, have made significant contributions
