For Children We Care
Congratulations to the For Children We Care Gala Committee and the dedicated team of volunteers for organizing another successful gala in support of BC Children’s Hospital. Presented by the Metro Vancouver BMW Retailers, the 2012 For Children We Care Gala, held on February 4, 2012 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, raised an astounding $669,999 for Operation Superhero. This campaign was initiated by the Chinese-Canadian community to raise $5 million in three years to name the Oncology Inpatient Unit at the new Children’s Hospital. To date, Operation Superhero, including proceeds from the 2012 For Children We Care, has raised $3.8 million.
Nearly 1,000 distinguished guests got together at this black-tie optional annual gala for a night of fine dining, live entertainment, dancing and silent auction.
Over the For Children We Care Gala's history, the event has raised close to $7.5 million to purchase medical equipment, and fund research and educational programs at BC Children's Hospital.
